STORY #1 FUMIAKI NISHIKAWA
Discovering Mountains, Life Began to Move
Born in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka. In his 20s, while working as a salaryman, he struggled with workplace relationships, was labeled as "incompetent," and gradually lost confidence. "I don't want my life to end like this" — despite harboring such thoughts, he couldn't find a way out. Then, at 30, he encountered mountaineering, which changed the direction of his life. By climbing mountains, he gradually regained confidence and learned to accept himself. At 33, his first great dream was born: "I will climb Everest."
STORY #2 FUMIAKI NISHIKAWA
He Lost Everything. From There, the Dream Began Again.
At 38, after conquering the highest peaks on four continents and aiming for Everest, the COVID pandemic forced the cancellation of his expedition. He lost his money, his job, and was left with just 500 yen. Dreams and hopes were shattered, and he was driven to the point of thinking "I should end my life." However, an e-book he wrote in two weeks started selling, enabling him to earn again, and once more, his dream began to move. "Once more, to Everest." — It was the very decision to live.
